Onrush
ONRUSH is a distinct and refreshing title that deviates from traditional racing games. ONRUSH | Available June 5, 2018: ONRUSH was developed by Codemasters and released on the above date/year; since its release in early summer of this year, has carved out quite a niche for itself as one of those titles that dares to combine Robo-Racers thrills with going toe-to-toe against hundreds/thousands upon thousands across multiple high-speed team sports! In this review, we take a deeper look at different components of "ONRUSH" from its gameplay engine to aesthetic value and determine how it fares against games that have been released in the same mould.
Gameplay Mechanics
Onrush doesn't really fit your traditional racing action game mould. Placing an emphasis on objectives outside the traditional finish line, it was more about team tactics and driving like a reprobate down the other. In this game, you can play different modes which have various objectives to complete.
Boost - Teams score by boosting.; Overdrive The higher you boost the more points are stored. Set in one of our many forests, this mode is ideally suited for aggressive driving and teamwork.
Switch, where every player beings with three cars and whenever you wreck one moves on to a bigger new car. Objective: Outlast opponents and eliminate them.
Lockdown: Hold a hardpoint as it moves around the map. It is a mode in spirit to "King of the Hill" but on wheels.
A space where teams try to add time to the clock by working through gates. The team with its clock run out loses the game.
The essence of this game is all about going balls-to-the-wall, breakneck speed racing. If there is a downside, it's that you would probably run out of friends before you ran out for this reverse mode if players are rewarded within risk in the type of stunts or takedowns one other opposite which often adds an amazing amount everyone gave up boy wonder and real strategy to enjoy. ONRUSH features unique ability-based vehicles, broken down into four classes: Bikes, Buggies, 4x4s and Trucks. Individual classes excel in different situations or cater to specific playstyles, so not all are optimal for strategic needs.
Visual and Audio Design
ONRUSH looks great visually. With bright, lively environments from snowy mountains to lush forests and sandy deserts in between. Numerous alternate paths and jumps throughout the course add to the excitement of each run while also increasing their replay value. The over the top style of Action Arcade is based closely after classic arcade racers but with a modern look, taking realistic environments and marrying it was an exaggerated effects and physics playground.
Audio Design which is the other half of that equation does a competent job and an adrenaline pumping soundtrack keeps hooks in you. Derby games sound great too; engine roars, crunching metal and much more all contribute to that chaotic feeling of an eventful race.
Multiplayer and Community
ONRUSH: is heavily geared towards the thrilling drama of multiplayer competition. In addition to the online modes, players can be teamed up with friends or play against people around the world. The multiplayer is very fluid with minimal time in lobbies and downtime. Emphasising team objectives, game modes build teamwork and competition into every match for the best of both worlds.
But "ONRUSH" also has plenty for the solo player to enjoy with its offline modes and AI opponents. The single-player adventure is quite thick on the ground with a series of challenges and objectives that mimic some of the multiplayer modes so players can sharpen their skills while progressing at their own pace.
Similar Games
Here are a few other games that might appeal to fans of "ONRUSH." These are games that blend fast-paced racing with reckless driving and the cooperation found in a team sport.
"Burnout Paradise Remastered": Like "ONRUSH," "Burnout Paradise" is also high-speed, aggressive driving. An open-world environment is used, allowing players to explore the game's world and perform stunts while takedown-limited rivals. The remastered version will add a fresh coat of paint and online multiplayer modes.
MotorStorm: Apocalypse: More about vehicular combat and environmental chaos than off-roading. Like "ONRUSH," the dynamic tracks and aggressive AI provide an exhilarating experience.
Twisted Metal - Though it's not a racer but more of an vehicular combat game, Twister approaches the fast and frenetic gameplay ONRUSH have in common. Combats are fought with heavily vehicles, and the game concentrates on both destruction as well as strategy of it.
"Rocket League": Not a racer, but it involves fast cars and soccer. Given the focus on working together, showing off your driving skills and competitive nature it makes for a perfect choice as an "ONRUSH" stand-in.
Split/Second: This game toys with environmental destruction within the framework of its racing, with players able to trigger events like crashing planes and falling skyscrapers that can change the track or offer short-cuts (or obstruct your opponents). If you quicken the pace and inject in some strategy "ONRUSH" would be a solid fit.
Conclusion

Fans of high-octane action should definitely give it a go with its focus on wild driving, multiple game modes and epic locations.
