Trine Enchanted Edition

A wonderful puzzle-platformer with some of the most enchanting graphics I've seen; Trine is a clever confluence of lushness and physics-based gameplay. A new and improved version of the original "Trine," "Enhanced" features better graphics as well as new physics puzzles and especially engaging environments in which to explore a mystical land full of marvels-and, of course, danger.

Story and Setting

In Trine Enchanted Edition, players journey through a haunting fairytale landscape of ruins and stollen magic. The game's story centers around three heroes — an old wizard Amadeus, a possessed knight Pontius and a thief Zoya — who are unwillingly bound to a mysterious contraption called the Trine. The two must visit dangerous terrains, conquer elaborate puzzles, and fight devious foes in order to bring harmony back to the region.

Gameplay and Mechanics

The game combines platforming, puzzle-solving and combat perfectly which makes it certainly stand out:

Character Switching: Players may switch between the three characters at any time, taking advantage of each ability to assist in various challenges. Amadeus can conjure items and alter the environment, Pontius is the dedicated combat class and can smash through certain walls, while Zoya uses her agility and grappling hook to access harder-to-reach sections of the level.

Puzzles with Realistic Physics: Puzzles, a significant part of the game play, are all constructed in a way so that players can unite together characters strengths to solve puzzles using realistic physics. This includes manipulating objects to push and prod, clearing pathways and using the environment to dispose of enemies.

Co-op Mode: Play "Trine Enchanted Edition" locally with or against up to three friends. Both characters must then solve puzzles together and navigate the levels for everyone to reach the end.

COMBAT: Combat is secondary to exploration and puzzle solving, but the game does feature up to three combat sequences where you must use every character's specific set of skills and weapons to hold off waves of enemies.

Skill Upgrades: Players will collect XP as they play through the game, allowing the hero to be upgraded and ultimately increase damage or change how a character is played.

Visuals and Presentation

The new Enchanted Edition re-boosts the visual look of Trine, a fantasy realm realized in breathtaking detail. With lush forests and dark dungeons and render a magic land you get richly detailed environments, giving off a special flair of immersion. The lighting and particle effects only serve to heighten the magical mood, and get along beautifully with the orchestral soundtrack which reinforces the visual grandeur of the game.

Game Modes

Sometimes, one gets easily bored with games as they fail to offer much novelty, thankfully, the game comes with various modes that you may enjoy:

Main Campaign - Experience the story of three heroes as they wander around in 9 simple levels, one more beautiful than the other, full of puzzles, enemies and secrets to be found. The campaign is playable solo or co-op with friends.

Game+ (Unlocked after completing the campaign) - Once you have completed the campaign, players can now revisit specific levels to try previously impossible puzzles and find new rewards.
