Black Mirror (PS4) Developer: KING Art Games Publisher: THQ Nordic Set in gothic adventure horror style, the Scotland of 1926. A reboot of the original Black Mirror series, from developer KING Art and publisher THQ Nordic, will introduce players to David Gordon as he returns to his ancestral home after receiving news that his father has met a violent end. The first-person exploration, puzzle-solving and atmosphere combine with a narrative that's supposed to be eerie as all hell.

Gameplay and Mechanics

Mainly set within the ominous Gordons' mansion, Black Mirror uses "black mirror" devices to allow players direct control over Sam and exploration around his ancestral house in order to solve different puzzles. The players will have to interact with different objects and characters in order for them to find out the dark secrets of The Gordon family. The game combines classic adventure game mechanics with some more modern approaches, but is afflicted by numerous tech issues that muddy the experience. People have been running into spots where characters freeze and a generally fluctuating frame rate, which isn't the best for making sure players stay engrossed in what's going on.

Key Features:

Dark, Brooding Environments with Disturbing Narrative: The game does a great job of nailing that gothic horror feel.

Puzzle-Solving: A series of puzzles, ranging from brain-dead easy to moderately challenging that are required for players' progression through the story.

Puzzle: Exploration based puzzle driven environment an attempt to explore and solve the mystery of Gordon family

Visuals and Sound

The visuals style of Black Mirror aims to scare and literally terrify us, which matches the feeling we have in a gothic horror game. However, the graphics and animations are nothing to write home about either - constant graphical issues mar an otherwise acceptable quality budget title with painfully long load times pushing it just a little too far into subpar territory.Read full review Loaded up for Victorian London?Looking at Black Mirror reminded me of what was wrong with Syberia III.

Alongside all of this, eerie noises are present thanks to the sound design and narration anywhere but in motion while it occasionally borders on complete silence which works well as you move stealthily through its environments especially whilst traversing mountainous regions- giving them an increased sense both their own unique identity made possible only by sounds expressing what would otherwise remain hidden beneath footfalls covered over more frequently than not now since time began so too may such instances pass eventually fading out piecemeal like dying stars because once there was more at stake here during terrifying still quiet mornings before dawn's rays burst forth onto fluffy soft patches dread starting anew with another blood stained day that never ended somehow just kept repeating until finally ceasing altogether even beyond comprehension or recall leave none alive ever again oblivion after eternal damnation under heaven alongside everyone else gone forever. A few players enjoyed the attempts that were made to create an eerie sounding environment with music and sounds, this helped set a creepy ambience during the entirety of gameplay.

Cons:

Conclusion

Silent Gothic horror with a thriller storyline and an immersive atmosphere. That being said, you do have to play through flaws and middling graphics that may prevent the fun from breaking out. And while fans of narrative-driven horror games may be able to power through these problems, the hard truth is that you can do a helluva lot better than Black Mirror on PS4 oai_citation:6,Black Mirror Review - Not A TV Show Adaptation | Just Push Start...
